Treadmill & Speed Guide — All Biome Unlock Requirements
Speed is the master stat in Steal An Egg: it makes you harder to catch when stealing, and it gates every biome on the map. Here’s how training works and what each unlock costs.
How treadmill training works
- Stand on the treadmill in your base to accumulate Speed.
- Base upgrades improve training throughput — the treadmill and the base are the two official upgrade tracks in the game description.
- Pets keep earning while you train, so training time is never wasted income time.
Every biome speed gate
| # | Biome | Speed required | Guardian |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Forest | Starter (none) | Chicken |
| 2 | Lake | 900 | Swan |
| 3 | Desert | 10,000 | Scorpion |
| 4 | Jungle | 40,000 | Tiger |
| 5 | Snow | 170,000 | Yeti |
| 6 | Volcano | 700,000 | Hellhound |
| 7 | Abyss Ocean | 2,500,000 | Moby |
| 8 | Prehistoric | 17,000,000 | T-Rex |
| 9 | Cosmic | 700,000,000 | Dragon |
Speed thresholds sourced from Beebom’s biome guide (Aug 2026); biome/guardian names cross-checked against official Roblox media (Yeti and T-Rex eggs appear in official thumbnails). The game updates every few days — verify in-game before committing to a long grind.
The jump pattern
The gates scale roughly 4-7x per biome through the mid-game, then explode:
- Lake → Desert: ~11x
- Desert → Cosmic: consistent multipliers until the final leap
- Prehistoric → Cosmic: ~41x — the single biggest wall in the game
That 700M wall is why the “Angelic Treadmill!” badge exists — only about 1,378 players have earned it (official badge counts, Aug 2026). The treadmill max-out and the Cosmic unlock are effectively the same endgame club.
Efficient progression route
- Forest → 900 Speed: grind Chicken eggs, upgrade the treadmill with early income.
- Lake → 10K: Swan eggs have meaningfully better hatch outcomes. Keep a full pen.
- 10K → 170K: the longest percentage grind. Desert and Jungle both feed it — rotate biomes to stay near fresh rare spawns.
- 170K → 2.5M: Snow eggs (Yeti Egg is officially confirmed) carry you through Volcano and Abyss Ocean.
- 17M → 700M: endgame. Prehistoric T-Rex eggs and Cosmic Dragon eggs are the targets everyone races for.
Known bug: treadmill death
Multiple players report dying shortly after dismounting the treadmill after a long session — one player reported losing an Eternal Phoenix egg this way. Until it’s fixed, break training into shorter sessions and drop heavy eggs in your pen before you train.
AFK training
AFK treadmill training is a popular technique — but weigh it against the raid risk: your pen is undefended while you train. Hatch your valuables first.
